17-year-old killed in hit-and-run on US 171 near Longville, state police say

LONGVILLE, La. (KPLC) - Louisiana State Police said a deadly weekend crash in Beauregard Parish was a hit-and-run and left a 17-year-old dead.

Around 4:00 a.m. on Feb. 9, Jodie Cannon was in the right southbound lane of U.S. 171 near A.D. Hodges Road when he was hit by a vehicle, which drove away after the crash. Cannon died at the scene.

Investigators said they have followed up on several leads since the crash. Though further forensic analysis is pending, a possible suspect has been identified.
