Blue Bell hits store shelves across Louisiana
Blue Bell Ice Cream is back in stock in stores across Louisiana with seven flavors.
"When I heard it was coming back I was probably the happiest person on earth," said customer, Nelda Fontenot.
In April, the creamery shutdown after its products were linked to a Listeria outbreak causing three deaths, but as part of the five phase market re-entry plan, the ice cream is hitting store shelves.
"It's going to be crazy. Stores are going to be emptied this afternoon, I would imagine. It's going to be pretty busy," said Blue Bell representative Chris Verdine.
For now, Blue Bell is releasing seven flavors of ice cream: Homemade Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, The Great Divide, Cookies 'n Cream, Buttered Pecan, Pistachio Almond, and Peppermint. Blue Bell representatives say they're working to get additional flavors back on the shelves in the near future.
