Two states hold primaries while a cabinet secretary appears before the House Oversight Committee
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - With Congress in recess, the focus shifts to the upcoming midterm elections as state primaries are well underway.
Indiana and Ohio will hold their primaries Tuesday, May 5; the latest elections in what has already been a consequential midterm season.
Vice President JD Vance is headed to Iowa that same day to campaign for Republicans, focusing on Rep. Zach Nunn’s reelection campaign in Iowa’s competitive 3rd district.
Meanwhile in Washington, the work continues in the Epstein Files investigation. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is set to appear before the House Oversight Committee in a voluntary, closed-door interview Wednesday, May 6.
Lutnick is being called to answer questions about his relationship to Jeffrey Epstein, specifically reports he had lunch with Epstein on his island well after he claimed to have already cut ties with the disgraced financier.
And it is National Small Business Week, hosted by the Small Business Administration. The week is advertised as a time to acknowledge and lift up America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.
