13-year-old student arrested for Moss Bluff Middle School threat

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A 13-year-old student has been arrested after being accused of making a threat at Moss Bluff Middle School, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Spokesperson Kayla Vincent says deputies received a call around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 regarding a possible threat being made.

During their investigation of the incident, deputies say they learned that the student made threats to “be the next school shooter.” Deputies identified the suspect who they say later confirmed that they made the statement.

The student was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for terrorizing.
