City of Lake Charles announces partnership with Toys for Tots for Christmas distribution event

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The City of Lake Charles and the United Way of Southwest Louisiana will be teaming up with Toys for Tots as part of their 2024 “Christmas in March Community Toy Drive.”

The partnership will allow the local Southwest Louisiana Toys for Tots campaign to help even more children in the Southwest Louisiana area.

Additional opportunities for toy donations will be held throughout the year, including a Partners in Parks “Christmas in July” event which is currently being planned.

Businesses or citizens looking to make a financial contribution to the local Southwest Louisiana Campaign can do so by visiting https://unitedwayswla.org/toys or texting “T4T” to 91999.

Funds raised will be used to purchase additional toys for the Saturday, December 21, 2024, distribution date.

The toy distribution will be held at the Lake Charles Event Center and volunteers will be needed to assist with this event. More information on how to sign up to volunteer is available at https://southwest-la.toysfortots.org.

Registration for the distribution event will begin mid-October, but residents can call 211 now to learn more about Toys for Tots and other assistance programs currently available.
