Arrest made in connection with Black Friday shooting in Ragley

BEAUREGARD PARISH, LA (KPLC) - The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with a shooting that took place in late November in Ragley.
Cecil McArthur, Jr. was booked on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of stolen items and possession of illegal drugs. Bond is set at $200,000.
Chief Deputy Joe Toler says deputies received a report of a shooting at a residence just after midnight. McArthur told police that he shot a suspected prowler. The victim, Michael Carter, 41 died at the scene.
The matter is still under investigation.
