Remains of missing Leesville man found
VERNON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - The remains of a human have been tentatively identified as a man who went missing in April 2024.

Although further examination will be conducted, the coroner’s office confirmed the recovered remains were those of Bobby Burns, 61, of Leesville.
Earlier today, a hunter near Lunker Cove Road contacted Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office after discovering the remains, which he found in a densely-wooded area as he was pushing through some brush with an ATV.
After arriving at the scene, law enforcement was able to confirm the remains were human.
Burns was reported missing in April after family members were unable to make contact with him.
At the time of his disappearance, Burn’s abandoned vehicle was located by deputies around VFW Road.
Deputies say foul play is not suspected.
