Coroner identifies man found dead in Vinton canal

VINTON, La. (KPLC) - Authorities have identified the man whose body was pulled from a Vinton canal Tuesday morning.

The Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office identified him as Garrett D. Harrell Jr., 33, of New Orleans.

Harrell’s body was spotted floating in the water near the Burned-Out Bridge Boat Launch, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. No foul play is suspected in his death, CPSO officials said Tuesday.
