CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Louisiana State Police have arrested a man wanted on a capital murder charge out of Texas, authorities said.

Darrell Burnside, 49, who was living in Lake Charles, was arrested in Lake Charles Wednesday, Aug. 22, according to Sgt. James Anderson, state police Troop D spokesman.

Burnside was wanted out of Harris County, Texas, for the alleged killing of his girlfriend, Ashley George, on April 24, 2018.

Houston station KTRK reports that Burnside is also a suspect in a homicide in Mississippi in January - Burnside and George were suspects in the killing of Burnside's wife, Carol Burnside.

On August 23, 2018, investigators from the Louisiana State Police and Harris County Sheriff's Office executed search warrants on Burnside's vehicle and home in Calcasieu Parish.
