Iowa hosted 10th annual Arts & Crafts Festival

IOWA, LA (KPLC) - The town of Iowa celebrated it's 10th annual Arts and Crafts Festival at the Iowa Community Center Saturday August 18, 2018.

The event had a petting zoo, live entertainment from New Orleans entertainer Matthew Noel, also known as "The Magic Yo-Yo," and RD 'Red Dog' Hebert. Balloon art was also provided by "Hobo Bill" and Friends, courtesy of The Shriners.

Several local artisans were at the event demonstrating their crafts including basket-weaver Emma Hughes, pottery maker Rex Alexander, and blacksmith E.J. McCann. Other local artists included:

A petting zoo with goats, a llama, an alpaca, and more, plus,  pony rides were provided by “All God's Creatures”. The event was free with the help of their sponsors: The Calcasieu Parish Public Library, the Town of Iowa, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Capital One Bank, the Iowa Police Department, the Iowa Volunteer Fire Department, the Boy Scouts of America: Troop 25, and Shriners International & the Friends of the Library, Calcasieu.
