LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - An elderly Lake Charles woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a local business, according to Lt. Richard Harrell with the Lake Charles Police Department.
Officers with LCPD responded to a call about an auto-pedestrian crash at the Kroger on Country Club Road on Aug. 1. Upon arrival, officers located 74-year-old Linda Ledoux unresponsive in the parking lot, said Harrell. She was transported to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital where she later died.
Witnesses at the scene told police that Ledoux stumbled in the parking lot before being struck by a vehicle traveling in front of the store, Harrell says. LCPD's traffic division and the Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office are investigating this incident.
