LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu River Saltwater Barrier was the site of the annual dam party this past Saturday night. For the second year in a row, the event ended with an incident.

Reportedly a woman was severely injured by a boat's propeller at the party where hundreds gather on the water.

Wildlife and Fisheries agents arrested 37-year-old Jason Comeaux of Sulphur on charges of vehicle negligence, DWI, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

"What we know right now, she's in stable condition, we don't know exactly the final outcome of what happened but she was cut pretty severely on her leg," says Sgt. Stuart Guillory.

Guillory shared how he felt about the drinking that goes on at this event.

"We take a serious stance on DWI on the water. You will get arrested and you will go to jail for doing it. It's the same thing as driving on the road. The fines are the same, the penalties are the same."

Investigators ask anyone with information or witness accounts to contact the Lake Charles office of Wildlife and Fisheries at (337) 491-2580.

At last year's party, a man reportedly drowned.
