CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office found a body in a car on La. 90 East this morning around 1:00 a.m., according to Kim Myers, CPSO spokesperson.
Deputies were responding a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of La. 90 and Jones Road in Lake Charles, says Myers. When deputies arrived at the scene, people were attempting to aid the driver.
Myers says Dorian Colston, 21, of Lake Charles was headed westbound when he was shot in his car. Investigators believe Colston drove a short distance before crashing his car into a tree.
Deputies found the red 2000 4-door Buick Regal Sedan in a ditch. Colston suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Myers says. CPSO does suspect foul play and believe it was a homicide.
Myers says Colston was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Sheriff Tony Mancuso compares this incident to the recent homicide on I-10.
CPSO is asking the public for help in solving this homicide. If anyone has any information, please call CPSO at (337) 491-3605. Anyone withholding information regarding this homicide may face charges.
CPSO Detective Travis Lavergne is the lead investigator on this case.
