CPSO arrests man for vehicular homicide in February crash in Iowa

IOWA, LA (KPLC) - A Calcasieu Parish man has been arrested for hitting two men with his vehicle in February in Iowa.

Around 10 p.m. on February 9, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a call on I-10 Mobile Village Road in Iowa in reference to two men being hit by a car.  The investigation, led by Sgt. Bryan Guth, identified the suspect as Ralph L. Leblue, 52. CPSO says Leblue was traveling northbound on I-10 Mobile Village road when he crossed the center line and struck two pedestrians. One of the pedestrians was airlifted to Lafayette where he was treated and released. The other pedestrian, Christol Doucett, Jr., 21, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After receiving the results of a toxicology test, a warrant was issued in the amount of $827,500 for Leblue's arrest. Leblue was located at his residence where he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Leblue is charged with vehicular homicide; vehicular negligent injury; careless operation of a vehicle; no insurance; and failure to register a vehicle.
