Former KPLC reporter, anchor dies

MONROE, LA (KPLC) - Berwin McClinton, a former KPLC reporter and news anchor, has died.

He worked at KPLC from 1982-1983. He also worked at at KBMT in Beaumont from 1991-1994 and at TV stations in Baton Rouge and Monroe.

Most recently, McClinton worked at KJMG Radio , Majic 97.3, in Monroe, as news director.

Over the years, he wrote, produced, and voiced hundreds of television and radio political ads for dozens of political candidates.

His daughter, Jules Kierstan McClinton, said he died Friday.

The funeral will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 8 at Lone-Wa Baptist Church in his hometown of Monroe, La. The visitation is 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Miller Funeral Home. For more information, click HERE.
