JEFF DAVIS PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's deputies have made a second arrest in the infant injury incident that happened on Sept. 23, according to authorities.
On Sept. 23, sheriff's deputies responded to a report that an infant was admitted to the hospital with a swollen head, said Chief Deputy Chris Ivey, Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman. Hospital records showed that the infant had two skull fractures. An investigation revealed that only two adults were present during the timeframe in which the injuries occurred. Warrants were obtained for the mother, Angelle Mann, and her boyfriend, Justin Brock King, 29, of Ville Platte. On Monday, Oct. 10, Mann was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and on an outstanding warrant for worthless checks.
On Wednesday, Oct. 19, King was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, Ivey said. He was booked into the parish jail with no bond.
