LACASSINE, LA (KPLC) - Jeff Davis Parish authorities have released the name of a 21-year-old man who drowned in a bayou in Lacassine Saturday.

Scott James Borne was pronounced dead at the scene, said Chief Deputy Chris Ivey, Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Deputies were called to a possible drowning on Foreman Road around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Ivey said. Deputies were told that a man was last seen near the bayou behind a residence and couldn't be found.

Deputies ran to the dock and found that Borne's father, Richard Borne, had pulled him from the water. Scott Borne was laying face-up on the dock.

Richard Borne and deputies performed CPR until paramedics and first responders arrived. Paramedics continued CPR for approximately 30 minutes. When no pulse or vitals were found, the coroner was called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
