Police Jury holding anti-litter art contest

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is inviting children to help fight against litter by creating their own litter-bag design.

The artwork must be related to the theme "Keep Calcasieu Clean. Don't Litter," said Tom Hoefer, parish communications and media director.

The slogan - or another anti-litter message - may appear on the work. Children's names or other personal information cannot appear on the designs and the work must be original. The deadline is Thursday, June 30, and the winner will be selected by a group of judges. Entrants must be ages 5 to 12 and may only submit one entry.

Entry forms can be found at any Calcasieu Parish Library locations. An entry form along with the list of rules can be found at www.cppj.net/trash.
