LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A dead body was found early Tuesday morning in the 2800 block of Fourth Avenue, Lake Charles police said.

Officers learned that the man had been a patient at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for unknown medical issues, Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said. The man left the hospital against medical opinion and died moments after leaving the hospital. No foul play is suspected.

Around 5:13 a.m., officers responded to a man found on the ground and unresponsive, Kraus said. The deceased man was located by the Lake Charles Police Department and Acadian Ambulance. The Calcasieu Parish Coroner's office assisted in the investigation.
