CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury just voted to deny a request to allow a 72-space RV park near Deatonville.
Landowner Tanis Robinson proposed putting a 72-space RV park called "Wagon's Rest" in the area to give temporary workers a place to stay.
Concerned residents showed up at this week's Calcasieu Parish Planning and Zoning Board meeting to voice their opposition - concerns ranged from environmental issues to traffic problems.
The board recommended voting against the park. The recommendation went before the policy jury tonight for final approval and the jury voted to uphold the zoning board's decision.
