Lake Charles man identified as a victim of boat explosion in White Lake

VERMILION PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputies found the bodies of two men — one from Lake Charles — who were on board a boat that exploded Thursday near a rig in the White Lake area, KATC reported.
Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon said the victims have been identified as Brandon Saul Taylor of Lake Charles and John Dooley Hebert of Egan.
The U.S. Coast Guard, which is investigating the accident, is expected to release additional details about the explosion
The Vermilion Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries found the bodies around 3 p.m. Friday, LeBlanc said.
The U.S. Coast Guard said the boat is a 30-foot deck boat, which was near a rig owned by Texas Petroleum Investment Company (TPIC) in White Lake.
TPIC, headquartered in Houston, released the following statement:
"A full investigation of the incident that occurred on October 15th is being conducted by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Department. The Sheriff's department is also leading the recovery efforts. We are fully supporting authorities in their efforts and providing equipment and assistance as requested by the Sheriff's department. The sheriff's department will issue a report on the cause of the accident following its investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those affected by this tragedy."
