A Georgia man driving a semi-trailer truck was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-10 between Crowley and Egan Sunday, Louisiana State Police said in a news release.
Michael Ransom, 63, was traveling west when the 2010 International Tractor Trailer he was driving ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, bursting into flames upon impact, according to Brooks David, Troop I spokesman. Ransom was pronounced dead at the scene.
Impairment is not suspected, but a routine toxicology sample was obtained, David said.
