Marshland Festival ends tonight
LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Get ready for a foot-stompin' good time! The Marshland Festival was held July 25-25 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
This year's festival hours are 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday.
Admission is $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday. Children ages 12 and under get in free. Parking is free.
Performers at the festival will include Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band, Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns, Frank Foster and more. For a full lineup, click HERE.
The event began in 1990 as a way for parents, teachers and administrators in the Hackberrry community to fund school, church and community organizations in Cameron Parish.
The festival has expanded to include celebrations of Cajun food, music and culture through exhibits, games, art and craft vendors, and live music.
Proceeds from the Marshland Festival will benefit the following organizations: the Catholic Daughters of America, Catholic Youth Group, Hackberry Athletics Organization, Hackberry FBLA, Hackberry FFA & Rodeo, Hackberry Youth Organization, high school cheerleaders, high school dance, the Knights of Columbus, St. Peters Catholic Church and the Youth Rodeo Club.
