ALLEN PARISH, LA (KPLC) - An Oberlin man has been found guilty in the 2013 death of a 2-year-old girl.
The Associated Press reported a jury found Bobby Davis Jr., 33, guilty of negligent homicide on Thursday.
Davis was facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of his girlfriend's daughter.
Authorities said the child suffered third-degree burns, which may have been used to cover up to the actual cause of death -- blunt force trauma to the head.
Davis will face up to five years in prison when he's sentenced Aug. 6. He is free on bond.
The child's mother Brandi Holyfield pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year. She faces up to 40 years in prison.
