Funeral arrangements announced for longtime law enforcement leader

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for a longtime employee of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office who passed away over the weekend.

Civil Commander and Chief Civil Deputy Darrell Guillory died at age 61 in a local hospital following a brief illness.

Visitation for Guillory will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Friday at Combre Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at 8 a.m. on Saturday at St. Martin de Porres Church until the funeral at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.

Guillory began working at the sheriff's office in 1980, serving in the corrections, warrants and community relations divisions before becoming commander of the the civil division in 2008.

“Darrell was not only a great employee, but a great friend to many of us at the Sheriff's Office,” Mancuso said. “It's like losing a member of our family. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Guillory is survived by two brothers, Martin and Merrill and two sisters, Theresa Brignac and Janet Labbe. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Boutte Guillory; his father, Gervis Guillory and brothers, Ronald Guillory and Harvey Guillory.
