CAMERON PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Venture Global LNG, Inc. has acquired 432 additional acres for the proposed Calcasieu Pass liquefaction and export facility in Cameron Parish.
"This expansion will dramatically expand the available land for the project, now totaling 938 acres," said Venture Global in a news release on Tuesday. "Calcasieu Pass will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies."
The Calcasieu Pass project is expected to bring 130 permanent jobs to Southwest Louisiana and employ about 1,500 workers during peak construction times. The facility plans come online in 2019, pending regulatory approval.
Venture Global announced on Friday that project officials submitted Resource Report 13 to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The report is a required regulatory filing that details environmental and engineering components of the project's design. For more information on the filing, click
