JEFF DAVIS PARISH, LA (KPLC) - A Lacassine man is being held without bail after his arrest on drug charges, authorities said.

Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Office spokesman Chris Ivey said John Kevin Derouen, 53, was arrested on charges of manufacturing/cultivation of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of stolen things, obstruction of justice, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ivey said the sheriff's offices in Jeff Davis and Acadia parishes recovered a 16-foot trailer, which had been reported stolen in Acadia.

"During the recovery and arrest, deputies also discovered the subject was cultivating marijuana at his residence on La. 101 in Lacassine," Ivey said.
