SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) - The following Easter events and closures have been announced for Southwest Louisiana.

• LAKE CHARLES:

Lake Area Easter Festival 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 4 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1800 Country Club Road. For children grades 5 and under. Residents must pre-register

• LAKE CHARLES:

CSJ-Ent. Annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at Millennium Park near the Lake Charles Civic Center. The event is free and open to children ages 2-12. For more information, call 337-292-5095.

• SULPHUR:

Public Easter egg hunt 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4 at Heritage Square. For children 10 and under as well as special needs children.

• LAKE CHARLES:

• JENNINGS:

Egg Drop Eggstravaganza

• LAKE CHARLES:

Photos with the Easter Bunny through Saturday, April 4 in the Sears Court of the Prien Lake Mall. Times are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. For more information, go to

• GRAND CHENIER:

Sunrise service for Easter Sunday on April 5 at 6:45 a.m. at Grand Chenier Park on the banks of the Mermentau River. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside Grand Chenier Methodist Church.

Public Library:

All branches closed Friday-Sunday, April 3-5. Materials may be dropped off at Book Drop Boxes or renewed online or by calling 337-437-4153. For more information, visit

District Attorney's Office: Office closed Friday, April 3.

City of Sulphur: Offices closed Friday, April 3. There will be no interruption in residential trash/garbage pickup.
