Calcasieu libraries announce programs for March 29-April 4

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - The following is a news release from the Caclasieu Parish Public Library:

Notice:

All branches of the Calcasieu Parish Public Library will be closed for the Easter holiday on Friday, April 3, Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5.

Materials may be dropped off in the Book Drop boxes located at each branch. Items can be renewed online at

and clicking on the My Account icon at the top of the page.

Patrons can also renew items by calling 437-4153 or toll free at 1-800-240-0212, and following the directions you hear. A library card number and PIN number will be needed for both.

The following programs have been announced at various Calcasieu Parish Public Library locations for March 29-April 4:

ADULTS

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale

:  3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29. The Friends of the Library-Calcasieu will have books for sale until 5:00 p.m.

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale

:  10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31. The Friends of the Library-Calcasieu will have books for sale until 12:00 p.m.

Free Legal Advice

:  12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1.  The SWLA Bar Foundation will have attorneys present in the library to answer legal questions on a first come, first served basis.

Internet-Beyond Basics

:  10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2.  In this intermediate course, adults will expand their knowledge of online searching and safety.  Registration is required.

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale

:  2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2. The Friends of the Library-Calcasieu will have books for sale until 4:00 p.m.

Maker Hours

:  5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2.  Visit the Innovation Studio at Central Library every Thursday evening to tinker with fun technology, including 3D printing.  For more information visit
