McNeese to present recital, master class

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The following is a news release from McNeese State University:

Acclaimed baritone David Small, an associate professor of voice at the University of Texas at Austin, will present a master class and recital on Thursday and Friday, March 19-20, on the McNeese State University campus.

The master class will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 207 of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex, while the recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Tritico Theatre.

Both events are open free to the public.

Throughout his career, Small has performed in over 60 different operatic roles. He has performed as Figaro in "The Barber of Seville" over 100 times throughout the U.S., France and Spain, earning him international praise.

He has been featured as a soloist with the St. Louis Symphony, Haifa Symphony in Israel, Austin Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic, has recorded with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and Madison Opera and has made his debut at Carnegie Hall.
