Lake Charles Police arrest two on armed purse snatching, drug charges

Lake Charles Police arrested two people for an armed purse snatching and drug charges.
According to Deputy Chief Mark Kraus, a woman, later identified as Stacy Dawn Browning, 23, stole another woman's purse on Dec. 30, 2014 in the parking lot of the Kroger on McNeese Street in Lake Charles. Two witnesses caught her, but her accomplice, later identified as Evan Kade Hermann, 21, pulled a gun on them, so they released her.
Detectives with the Lake Charles Police, the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force and the Louisiana State Police got a warrant Monday to search Browning and Hermann's residence. According to Kraus, they found items from the stolen purse, as well as several forms of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Browning was arrested and charged with purse snatching; distribution or possession of Schedule I narcotics with intent; possession of marijuana; prohibited acts; drug paraphernalia and the sale, exhibition, or distribution of material harmful to minors. Her bond was set at $19000. Hermanan was arrested and charged with purse snatching; aggravated assault with a firearm; possession of a controlled,dangerous substance, Schedule III; prohibited acts and drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $245,000.
