DERIDDER, LA (KPLC) - The DeRidder Fire Department responded to a fire downtown after the historic Sartor Building went up in flames Sunday evening.

Firefighters had the fire under control within an hour, but the roof collapsed and the fire department knocked down the walls.

The building was vacant and no one was injured. Though, there were plans to turn it into an office building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
