Candidate requests recount in race for Lake Charles City Court, Division B

A representative of Ron Richard announced on Wednesday that the candidate is asking for a recount in the race for Lake Charles City Court Judge, Division B.

Richard's written request was delivered to the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court's office on Wednesday. The request seeks a recount of mail-in ballots for the


Richard lost to incumbent John Hood by 125 votes.

"As I said repeatedly during my campaign, the people of Lake Charles deserve a judge who works," said Richard in a statement. "The people also deserve a thorough and fair count of all votes cast."
