Westlake sex offender charged with failure to register

WESTLAKE, LA (KPLC) - A 42-year-old Westlake man has been arrested on a charge of failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator (no identification in possession), authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Robert Anthony Dill was arrested Saturday.

"Deputies stopped Dill, who appeared to be intoxicated and was walking on the side of the road trying to stop vehicles for a ride," Myers said Tuesday in a news release. "A check by the deputy revealed Dill was a registered sex offender and he did not have any form of identification, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders."

Dill was also charged with disturbing the peace.

Dill, who was convicted of indecent jehavior with juveniles in 2004, was released Monday after posting a $1,500 bond.
