Officials, developer close to deal on old Sears property in Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - After more than a year, a deal is almost finalized on the old Sears property in downtown Lake Charles.

Developer Roger Landry tells 7 News that he has signed off and sent $1,065,000 to the City of Lake Charles.

All that is left is Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach's signature to officially seal the deal, Landry said.

Landry is proposing to build a multi-million dollar luxury apartment and mixed retail development on the site, across the street from his Muller's Lofts.
