The suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings could soon see more charges being made against him. State prosecutors expect to charge him separately in the killing of an MIT officer who was shot Thursday night on the school's campus. In addition, federal prosecutors could also add new charges. U.S. officials say the suspect and his brother appear to have been motivated by their religious views. Look for more on this developing case at noon. You can also read more HERE.

In connection with that bombing story, we're going to take a look at K-9 units across the country and how they are beefing up their training. We'll show you how these well trained bomb dogs help police by sniffing out potential threats.

Also today, a story of survival as a Florida boy escapes from the jaws of a cold-blooded killer – an alligator!
