Ledet makes Top 6 on 'American Idol'

Viewers will see Joshua Ledet another week on American Idol.

Before Ledet faced his judgment, Ryan Seacrest revealed Ledet almost didn't get on the plane.

"A lot of people in my family suffer from anxiety," Ledet said. "For me, it's being claustrophobic."

On Wednesday night the contestants sang one song from the year 2000 to the present. After that, they performed a soul classic. Ledet covered Fantasia's I Believe and Sam Cook's A Change Is Gonna Come, what Seacrest described as "an emotional civil-rights anthem."

Contestant Colton Dixon was tossed off the show's top seven.
