$3K bond set for suspect in Moss Bluff theft

The following is a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles – On January 11, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Moss Bluff regarding a report of a theft.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised them over $10,000 in cash was missing from his home.  The victim revealed Mary L. Williams, 51, of Jackson Street, Westlake, had been helping him clean his house for a few weeks before the cash went missing.

During the investigation, Williams confirmed to detectives that she stole cash from the victim's bedroom while she helped him clean his house.
On February 28 she was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $1,500.

Williams has been released on a $3,000 bond set by Judge Ron Ware.
