Michael L. Cupp, 44, of Dayton, Texas, was arrested on Nov. 12 by VCIO detectives from the Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office, along with members of FBI Beaumont and the Dayton Police Department. He was booked into the Liberty County Jail on a count of racketeering. Judge Sharon Wilson set bond at $15,000.
A group that provides resources to victims of sexual abuse by Catholic priests is demanding the Louisiana Attorney General’s office launch an official investigation into their allegations and address statute of limitations concerns.
Morton said that when deputies arrived, Spears was on the front porch of the residence holding the homeowner at knifepoint. The deputies negotiated with Spears, getting him to release the homeowner, however, he refused to put down the weapon.
Detectives learned that the 13-year-old girl said during class that someone needed to come shoot up the school and threatened to shoot the teacher. She was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on a count of terrorizing.
