Marcello Cuadra

Marcello Cuadra is a member of the KPLC news team in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a morning anchor and MMJ reporter for KPLC-TV / FOX29. In December 2020, Marcello graduated from the University of Florida having majored in Telecommunication News with a concentration in Business.

Before transferring to UF, Marcello attended Miami Dade College, where he began his passion for journalism. While at MDC, Marcello wrote for the college newspaper, The Reporter, and decided he had found his future career. He transferred to UF in 2019 and joined WUFT News, where he went on to write, edit, and produce his packages to air on television. Marcello was able to showcase his Hispanic heritage while working for Noticias WUFT and participating in Telemundo University, learning how to effectively bring the news to Spanish speaking audiences throughout the area. He also worked for NPR’s radio show “All Things Considered,” broadcasting current events and breaking headlines over WUFT 89.1/90.1 FM.
