Lake Charles police are reminding homeowners about a program they have in place to protect residents and their property. Some Lake Area residents have already taken advantage of the Neighborhood Watch program offered by the department.

A pack of 5 dogs have terrorized a Sulphur neighborhood this week. Sulphur Animal Control workers were able to capture some of the dogs. The others are still loose, and it has some residents in the Summerwood subdivision in fear.
77-year-old Leeanna Joseph lived in the Villas of Lake Charles. Now, those buildings are boarded up. Construction crews have checklists posted on every door in the complex, marking off work still left to be done nearly 7 months after the hurricanes. Those storms left Joseph without a home.
