Candidate for Beauregard sheriff drops out of race
BEAUREGARD PARISH, La. (KPLC) - Incumbent Beauregard Sheriff Mark Herford will serve a second term.
“It has been an honor to serve Beauregard Parish and I’m thankful for another four years,” said Herford.
Herford is now unopposed in his bid for a second term after only other candidate in the race, Don Nichols, withdrew, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.
In a post to Facebook, Herford said, “I honestly tried to answer everyone individually, but I can’t keep up. I thank you all so much for the support you have all shown for me...There are great things ahead for Beauregard Parish. We will not let you down.”
