Biden visits California nature center, discusses plans for climate change
(Gray News) - President Joe Biden visited California and gave his administration’s plans to prepare for climate change and create clean energy jobs on Monday.
The president gave his remarks after touring the Lucy Evans Baylands Nature Interpretive Center and Preserve in Palo Alto, California.
Biden announced $600 million for projects to address climate change.
This funding is roughly one-fifth of the allocation given to NOAA under last year’s Inflation Reduction Act.
“These wetlands act as a critical buffer between the rising tides and the communities at risk,” said Biden, calling the preserve a “success story” in ongoing efforts to contain the damage from climate change.
