Lake Charles Police investigating homicide on North Prater St.

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - The Lake Charles Police Department says it is currently investigating a homicide on North Prater St.

According to Lieutenant Jeffrey Keenum, the incident occurred in the 1500 block of N. Prater St.

Officers responded to a call in the area around 1:47 a.m. and discovered it was a homicide when they arrived. The victim reportedly had multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities say the investigation is currently in its early stages and will provide more information as it develops. They did not indicate the identity of the victim or if any suspects have been named.
