Two arrested in shooting at Louisiana Pirate Festival
Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - Two suspects are in custody after a shooting broke out at the Civic Center, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries are reported.
Harry Pendleton III, 18, was arrested and charged with illegal use of weapons, aggravated criminal damage to property, flight from an officer, and on an active warrant.
Chelsey Ned, 19, was arrested and charged with reckless operation, flight from an officer, and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
People who were in the area said they heard three gunshots toward the back left of the amphitheater stage on Bord du Lac Drive.
CPSO deputies arrived at the scene in the night hours of May 6. They learned Pendleton was allegedly firing the gun and hit a vehicle.
Pendleton and Ned attempted to flee in a vehicle by driving through a crowd of people, CPSO said. Pendleton then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
Both suspects were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

We are grateful for our law enforcement partners who responded quickly to a shots-fired call on Saturday night near the festival site and made an immediate arrest. Most importantly, no one was injured. We continue to be here for the community and all of Southwest Louisiana.
