Lake Charles courthouse briefly evacuated following smoke alarm

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - The Lake Charles courthouse was briefly evacuated this morning after a smoke alarm was activated in the building.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says smoke from a toaster seemed to have set off the alarm.
There was no fire and courthouse employees returned to the building shortly after.
