Expect heavy congestion on I-10 West due to evacuation travel

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - The Louisiana DOTD advises motorists to expect heavier than normal congestion in Lake Charles and the surrounding areas due to Hurricane Ida evacuations.

Calcasieu Parish issued a voluntary evacuation Friday.

LADOTD advises to take extra precautions when traveling, as areas of the state may be impacted by severe weather.
Never drive through areas with downed power lines or utility poles.
