Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - Two men have been arrested after being accused of burglarizing several local businesses, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Spokeswoman Kayla Vincent says John K. Green, 53, of Orange, TX, and Jose E. Reyes-Rivera, 45, of Iowa, were arrested following a three-week investigation.

Detectives say they discovered that Green and Reyes-Rivera had broken into three different businesses and burglarizing one of the businesses on two separate occasions in the Sulphur and Lake Charles area. The burglaries reportedly happened between June 18 and July 2.

Green and Reyes-Rivera are accused of stealing over $9,000 of copper wire, numerous welding leads, and expensive metals such as Monel and Inconel.

Judge David Ritchie has set Green’s bond at $255,000 and Reyes-Rivera’s bond at $260,000. Both men were booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for 4 counts of burglary, 4 counts of theft, and 4 counts of property damage.
