CITGO to conduct worst-case scenario drilling for employee training

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - The CITGO Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex will be conducting a Worst Case Scenario drill to prepare and train employees next week.

The drills will take place from July 26, 2021, through July 28. They are to help train employees to deal with worst-case situations and coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies.

During the drill all refinery operations will continue as normal, however, the area may see a higher than usual presence of government officials who will be working with CITGO on the drill. The agencies taking part will include the United States Coast Guard, Louisiana State Police, Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and others.
