LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - J’Vonte Sterling, 19, of Lake Charles, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following a 2019 shooting on Legion St. that resulted in the death of a victim.

Sterling pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced by Judge Clayton Davis today, Apr. 23, 2021.

Assistant District Attorneys Ross Murray and Hope Wyatt Buford prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
